Hello on this cold and snowy day. Today I have a card project I did to share with you. I saw a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for a building block card and decided I would give it a try. Now… I have a Cricut Explore so I thought why not try to create a cut file in Design Space to let my Cricut do some of the work for me. After a couple hours of work, I had the base file for the card. Now came the fun of creating a dressed up version. Continue reading

Happy Washi Wednesday! Hope everyone is having a fantastic day.
Today marks the first card in my new washi tape card series. I took a card I had made previously and put in my shop and revamped it for the upcoming Halloween holiday. I used an image from the newest Cricut cartridge Potions and Spells for my greeting on the front of the card (love the images on that cartridge by the way). I made my card base in Design Space also since I was cutting the image though you could skip this step and just cut it with a paper trimmer and fold it in half. The green words were cut out in outdoor vinyl (Oracal 651) to make assembly easier and save the need to attach the letters separately. I inked the edges of both the card and the rectangle in Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink and stamped a Stampabilities spider web in the corner. The Halloween washi tape I chose were from Queen & Co. (not sure if they are still available), the orange and purple were both from a Peachy Cheap offer and the white Beware tape is a dollar bin (Studio G?) tape from Joann’s. I finished it off with some tiny spiders from an older Close to My Heart set of woodblock stamps called Spinning Spider, a bling spider from Hobby Lobby and my favorite Wink of Stella pen.

Calling all Doctor Who fans. . . I just got done creating this amazing card for my friend Ken Kindler over at Crafts By Two for his birthday. I really wanted to make something special for him and I knew he was a fan of Doctor Who so when
I found this cut file at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons I knew it would be the perfect card for him. I used my Cricut Explore to add some personal touches also. It’s the little details on this card that make it so amazing. I had a lot of fun with the inside also. The card was a little late so wrote a belated birthday greeting to him Whovian Style and even included Happy Birthday in Gallifreyan. Check out the photo gallery below to see more pictures of this fun project. This card is also available for purchase in my shop. It is there you can also order the customized version of the card. Remember, there is always free shipping on any order of $10 or more and free local delivery for any size order if you are in the Colorado Springs area. Crafts By Two also featured the card on their YouTube channel in this Two’s Got Mail video from July 2014. If you don’t follow their channel you really should. They have amazing tutorials, hauls and crafting fun. Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for following me.

I have a fellow crafter and blogger that I love to follow. Her name is Melody Lane and she does awesome crafting videos and even has a daily vlog channel of other things she does in her day. Her website is full of great information and project ideas and there is always something to learn from her You Tube crafting tutorials. Today she posted a video on how to make your own colored foam adhesive and I just had to share. It is awesome and something I can’t believe I never thought of. Can’t wait to give it a try and save money making foam dots (or squares, strips, triangles, etc) in colors to match my project. Check out her sites and check out this video. It is and AWESOME idea!
This past week while I was making some cards I was thinking about all the different options out there for adhesives for projects. Today, I thought I’d share with your my personal experience and opinions on adhesives I use when making cards and paper crafting. These are by no means all the glues I’ve used. I have some that are only for my scrapbooks, some that I use for general crafts and even ones to use for projects the kids do for school. I have yet to find that one and only, do all adhesive for all my projects. There are also some adhesives out there that I’ve heard a lot about but have yet to try (E6000 for example). Here are my favorite paper crafting and card making adhesives and some reasons why. Continue reading
