So I recently decided to start crafting again. I want to make a bunch of cards to either sell or at least to bundle and give as gifts to friends and family that still enjoy sending snail mail notes from time to time. I drug out my Cricut Personal and hooked it up to Cricut Craft Room. Every week, Cricut offers a new set of images as a free cut. They are released every Wednesday and there have been so many awesome ones that I find myself checking Craft Room often to see what the next “free cuts” will be. Every now and then, a cut will stay up for more than a week or they will stick a mystery cut in there. On this particular trip into the Craft Room program, Spring Holiday Cards was the free cut. I had so much fun making St. Patrick’s Day cards and Easter Cards. I was even able to play with one in Craft Room and turn it into a birthday/special day type card. When you use the software, you are able to hide some of the cut lines and modify the images a little. It is so much fun and so addicting. Here are the few cards I made that lazy Sunday afternoon. I’ll do my best to list the supplies I used though some of this stuff I have had forever and I’m not sure where I got them. All of these images were cut from the Spring Holiday Cards cartridge at 3″ and are on a standard 4 1/2″ x 5″ card.
The images were cut and text and the smiley face contours were hidden. Teal swirl paper and yellow paper are from Close to My Heart and the blue “dot” paper is in the DCWV Timeless Texture paper pad. The prismatic paper was purchased from Joann’s. Not sure who it is by. It’s Your Day stamp is from Close to My Heart and it was embossed with a black/gold embossing powder. There are pop dots up under the yellow frame also.
The images were cut as is. All the paper is by Close to My Heart. The horseshoe and words were glittered with glue and copper colored glitter. They yellow background was inked with close to my heart orange ink. Not sure where I got the ribbon from.
The images were modified in Craft Room and the smiley face on the shamrock and phrase “Irish at Heart” were hidden. The green papers are from Close to My Heart and the black print is from the DCWV Timeless Texture paper pack. Lucky stamp was created from acrylic letters by Close to My Heart and stamped and embossed with Close to My Heart white embossing powder. Once again, not sure where I got the shamrock ribbon.
The image on this card was cut as is. All the papers are by Close to My Heart and the ribbon is probably from Michael’s. The bunny face was glued and covered in a clear glitter and the Hoppy Easter was inked with Close to My Heart grape colored ink.
This one was my favorite card of the day. The pink and black paper are by Close to My Heart. That multi-colored paper is one that I have had in my stash forever so I’m not sure where it came from. I think a friend gave it to me originally or I got it as a gift for coming to a crop. The guitar was glued and glittered with a clear prismatic glitter and the star gems were stuck on the card with small glue dots.
Hope you enjoyed these projects. I would love to hear from you on what you thought. Have a great day and till next time . . . .
