Yuck!

Sorry I haven’t been in to post another squirrel story for everyone to enjoy but my internet has been buggy. I have Verizon Wireless broadband with a very testy USB modem. After one replacement and MANY hours on the phone with customer service they agreed to send me a DIFFERENT model of USB modem. They are sending it via FedEx to me and it can’t get here fast enough. I’m hoping it will arrive tomorrow so I will have it for the weekend.

Then, as if that wasn’t enough . . . I woke up this morning with a really yucky stomach bug. I spent most the morning in the bathroom but had to pull myself together so I could go to work. I am the office manager and I am in charge of cutting paychecks. If I wouldn’t have gone in, I’m sure I would have had the staff knocking at my door for their money. I tried to make the most of the day but after just a couple hours I couldn’t stick it out any longer. I came home and passed out on the couch and tried to feel better. Rob and I were supposed to go to a function tonight so I had hoped that I would feel well enough to just go and say hi. It wasn’t happening.

Now, I’m sitting here, trying to relax and not think about anything. I need to get better before the morning because tomorrow morning John Michael graduates from elementary school. He also receives his Presidential Award for Academic Excellence and I don’t want to miss that. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that whatever has made me sick will leave before too long tonight so I can be there.

Other than that, not much else is going on here. The most exciting things are Rob and I started karate class on Monday and so far we’re loving it. The other exciting news is Rob accepted a job at Old Chicago as a prep cook. He starts his training this Sunday morning and we are both excited for this new chapter in our life.

Anyway, I’ll post another continuing story to my squirrel this weekend as I can but in the mean time, at least you know I haven’t forgotten all of you.

  1. I hope you feel better soon. You’ll have to let us know how the ceremony went.
